Ada Virginia Ward, 79, of Crisfield, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at McCready Health.
Born in Chincoteague, Virginia on May 20, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Bill Tarr and Mildred Bowden Tarr Brewington. Her husband, Gordon T. Ward, Sr., preceded her in death on April 15, 2005.
She retired from the former Carvel Hall Cutlery working until their closing, and then worked at Roses.
She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She loved her church and her church family dearly. She enjoyed her walking group and especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Gordon T. Ward, Jr. of Hurlock, Vicki Paro and husband John of Crisfield, and Jerri Lehman and husband Bob of Crisfield; her sister, Jackie Robinson and husband Chuck of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; four grandchildren, Erin Lawrence and husband Scott of Hurlock, David Todd Hill, Jr. and fiancé Ashley Cyphers of Westover, Jay Paro and fiancé Caitlin Marshall of Crisfield, and Ginni Sue Sterling and husband Kenny of Columbia; six great-grandchildren, Annabelle Willis, James Howell, Brandon Lawrence, Debbie Lawrence, Chloe Scott and her mom Ellen Scott, and Maddox Miller; special sisters-in-law, Nell "Snookie" Bennett of Mardela and Eleanor K. Ward of Arnold; a brother-in-law, John I. "Jackie" Ward of Tampa; her special friend, Mary Lou Young of Pocomoke City; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Tarr; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Ward; and her great-grandson, Link M. Sterling.
Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Bob Daniels will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
